What it is

Lifeline Forums are an anonymous online space where you can connect with a supportive community of people with similar experiences.

The forums are moderated 24/7 by mental health professionals who help facilitate positive, empathetic, and helpful conversations.

Opening up and sharing experiences is a well-known way to buffer painful mental health experiences.

The forums can also help by:

  • Feeling less alone through hearing similar experiences of others
  • Getting helpful tips and advice on self-care and practical tips
  • Tips and advice for carers, friends, and family.
Lifeline Forums do not provide crisis support or counselling.

Lifeline Forums are peer-to-peer support services. The information provided is designed to complement, not replace, the relationship between patients and healthcare professionals.

If you or someone you know is in crisis and needs urgent help, you can contact Lifeline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via 13 11 14, text, and chat. If life is in danger, call 000.

Who it's for

Lifeline Forums are for anyone 18+ in Australia currently experiencing or being impacted by mental health challenges and conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. This includes friends, family members, and carers.

Lifeline Forums are especially helpful for people who might be experiencing loneliness, feeling disconnected, or feeling unheard in their experience.

Being able to communicate with people in a similar situation online is a blessing.
