What it is
The Anxiety and Worry Program is a free self-guided online learning program from Mental Health Online that uses principles from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to teach you skills and strategies to:
- Understand and identify the symptoms of anxiety
- Identify the link between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
- Monitor and manage specific anxiety symptoms
- Gain control of physical reactions
- Identify and replace unhelpful beliefs and ways of thinking
- Learn new behaviours and techniques to improve your mental health and wellbeing.
The program consists of 12 self-paced modules that can be completed over the course of 12 months.
Who it's for
The Anxiety and Worry Program is available for Australian residents over the age of 18 with mild to moderate levels of anxiety or someone who:
- Worries about things that might happen in the future
- Has a general sense of dread or doom
- Worries about the feeling of anxiety itself
- Is self-conscious about other people looking at, or talking about them
- Feels overwhelmed with negative thoughts
- Feels like they're experiencing repetitive or excessive thoughts about particular events.

How to access it
To get started with the Anxiety and Worry Program, head to the Mental Health Online website. It’s free but does require you to register.
While the Anxiety and Worry Program can be completed independently, you can also sign up for the organisation’s free Therapist Assist option to access 12 weeks of support from a trained Mental Health Online therapist while you use the program.
